My name is Chavone Danielle Townes. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I am the oldest of four children and it sucks! I’m also an active server in the Army as a reservist. I choose to be in the reserves because honestly I cannot see myself wearing the uniform everyday. A career in the military is not something that interests me. My enrollment in the army was a very random decision for my family and friends, it was June 2006 the end of my high school years and I have been accepted to several universities with no source of payment besides financial aid which in my case wouldn’t cover much of my expenses. So I then decided to join the military, the training wasn’t as hard as I imagined but it was enough to transform me from a prissy girl into a solider for the United States.
Let’s rewind so you can get to know more about who Chavone really is. I’m Chavone and to those who know me they call “Princess” which is a nick name that I acquired from my late grandmother. I’m one of those young ladies who love to shop, hangout, and enjoy life, just like everyone else. I often surprise people with my abilities to be very diverse. I’m from a part of Brooklyn where most people would probably drive past at 90 miles per hour without stopping. Most people characterize Brownsville as a bad place but for me its home, yeah there’s some violence that goes on every now and then but there’s violence everywhere. My family would like for me to become a doctor so that I can move them out of Brownsville, hopefully to a house in the country but I definitely don’t see that happening. My goals in life are to be very successful and independent. As far as my career goes at one point in time I wanted to be a physical therapist that way I can convert over to sports medicine. Being that I absolutely love sports that would be something that I wouldn’t mind getting up to do everyday. I also have an interest in serving in the criminal justice field. I wanted to do something along the line of parole/probation officer. Investigating my interests in future careers led me to change my major from Veterinary Technology to liberal arts Social Sciences and Humanities, which is why I’m currently in this cluster of classes. I’m in my second semester of college, In this cluster I plan on succeeding and moving on, that way I can get my associates and transfer to a four year college..
